Unwanted Desire

I wanna kiss you till our lips are numb

Breaths ragged against foreheads

In the desperate hope that my anguish,

Will numb itself for a few blissful seconds.

I could fiddle with your messy locks of hair

And brush my cheek against your stubble

Losing myself in the depths of your orbs

Just for a moment, that is all I need;

To patch up the gaping hole in my heart

With flimsy band aids for aching pains.

You were never meant to be mine

Nor did I want for you anyways

It was your passion that drew me in

Like the tide draws in sand at a beach

Yet, what could my heart do with one

It could never love, but still wanted to keep.
